Smooth Fusion Of Chic Resort and Hippiness

Posted on November 5th, by andrea in Uncover. No Comments

Imagine a rugged mountain backdrop, golden beaches, affordable ocean view accommodations, cheap hookah and beer, and fresh mango smoothies served every morning.  This simple, laid back spot lures many backpackers and travelers alike to Dahab.  It was the perfect getaway for us after the overdose of craziness in Cairo, Egypt.

The ride from Cairo to Dahab was a nightmare.  We were stuck in a overcapacity, 12+ hrs bus ride full of sweaty men.  My bladder was crying out for help with the limited stops for bathroom breaks.  Every stop we had to peek out of the bus window to make sure no one took our bags “by mistake.”  I was feeling ever so restless and trying not to fall off my seat and tumble down the stairs.  I definitely had the best seat in the house – no … Read More »

Divers Paradise: Pulau Redang

Pulau Redang – is located in the eastern part of the chain of islands of Malaysia which forms a marine park off the Terengganu Coast.  Surrounded by pristine turquoise water and white sand beaches, this is an ultimate beach getaway destination.   The amazing marine ecosystem and coral reefs make this island an ideal diver spot to get your PADI certification.  It’s ranked amongst the best coral reefs in the world.

Repulse.  You’ll have to plan out your vacations due to limited direct flight schedules with Berjaya Air (https://www.berjaya-air.com/). Also due to the northeast monsoon season in the winter, most of the resorts on the island is closed for business.  The ferry transport services do not run and is strongly … Read More »

A Small Dose of Guilty Pleasure: Resort Town Puerto Vallarta

I was bestowed with an all-inclusive vacation from the loving boyfriend to Puerto Vallarta in April. This experience is as drastic as the fairly tale in The Princess Diaries. Previously a mud-covered gypsy who spends one dollar on her meal, I was transported to endless champagne floats, delicate food buffets and people waiting to serve me 24/ 7. While this is a little out of character for me, no girl in this world does not like a little pampering and loving from time to time.

The resorts of Puerto Vallarta are a 20 minute drive from the airport call Neuvo Vallarta in Mexico. Its name, New Vallarta, indicates this area come into existence for its sole purpose to serve the resort community in the 90s. The entire beachfront is lined up with resorts modeled after different famous architecture around the world.
